American journalist, lawyer, and writer, born in New York, United States. He worked as a columnist for the Guardian US newspaper from August 2012 to October 2013. He also contributed to other newspapers and political news magazines such as the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times. He was considered by Foreign Policy magazine, one of the top 100 global thinkers of 2013. He became widely known after The Guardian published the first in a series of reports detailing the global surveillance programs of the United States and Britain, based on secret documents revealed by Edward Snowden, and this series of reports won the Pulitzer Prize in the general service category. He is known for No Place to Hide, Untitled Martina Navratilova Project, and Field of Vision (2015).
