British actor, born in Essex, UK, on 23 July 1903. He had generally minor, silent roles but sometimes appeared in speaking roles. He made his debut in The Lady Vanishes (1938), and his final appearance in Yes Minister (1980-1981). His most notable works include Not So Dusty (1956) and The Root of All Evil? (1968). He died on 17 March, 1983, in London, UK.
