British actor, born in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, in 1923, as Harold John Coyne. He made his onscreen debut in Three Cockeyed Sailors (1940) and his final appearance in Jeeves and Wooster (1992). His most notable works include The Bride (1985). He married Prunella Smith who remained with him until his death on 24 March, 2013, in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK.
