German actress born in Cologne, Germany in 1924. Her father was Catholic, and her mother Protestant, but she chose atheism and socialism in her youth. She studied drama and began her career in theater. Her notable works include The Dybbuk of the Holy Apple Field (1997), Sie sind frei, Doktor Korczak (1974) and White Lies (1999). She died on 6 August 2015 in Israel.
