An American actress, director, and producer, born on January 11, 1965, in Miami, Florida, United States. She started acting at the age of five. She trained to dance and sing on stage in New York, after which she acted with Angela Lansbury. She received the New York Critics Circle Award. She then moved to Hollywood and got her role in the series Little House on the Prairie (1981) and became famous after participating in the movie Repo Man. She is also known for Fame (1987), The Doors (1991), and Tuff Turf (1985).
