Patrice Hemery Lumumba was a Congolese politician and the first Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1960. He was born on July 2, 1925, in Katakokombe. He was the leader of the Congolese National Movement. He married twice before marrying Pauline Opango. He was assassinated on January 17, 1961, in Katanga, Democratic Republic of the Congo.
