She is an English actress, born in Leeds, UK. She studied acting at Rose Bruford College in the 1970s, and since her graduation, she has appeared in numerous productions such as theater, films, radio, and TV. She is a prize-winning poet who also writes and directs. She is known for I, Daniel Blake (2016), The Full Monty (1997), and Cotton Wool (2017).
