A British actress, born on May 13, 1938, in Brierfield, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. Her works include The Moonstone (1972), Silas Marner (1964), and The Odd Man (1960). She was married to William Roache. She was trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and first worked in repertory theatre in Nottingham. Starting in 1960, she had a prolific career on television, in BBC radio plays, and on the West End stage. Her father was a dentist and her mother was an actress and director. She died on January 22, 2007, in Tangmere, West Sussex, England.
