An Argentine film and television actress, born on February 26, 1948, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to actress Nelly Prince and producer Oscar Banegas. She married actor Alberto Fernández de Rosa, with whom she had one child, actress Valentina Fernández de Rosa. Cristina Banegas has appeared in about fifty films since 1965. She founded the theater company "El Excentrico de la 18" in 1986. Banegas is the first Argentine actress to win an International Emmy Award. She is known for Killer Women (2005-2007), Clandestine Childhood (2011), and The Two Popes (2019).
