He is a Scottish actor who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. His parents are John and Margaret Thomson. He studied for 3 years at the  London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is known for Holby City (2012-2015), Retribution (2016), and Midsomer Murders (2016).
