Benjamin John Whitrow was a British actor. He was born on February 17, 1937, in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, United Kingdom. He received his training at RADA from 1955 to 1959, after which he made his stage debut at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1959. His works include Scenes of a Sexual Nature (2006) and The Saint (1997). He was the father of Angus Imrie. Whitrow was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for his role as Mr. Bennet in the 1995 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. He was married to Catherine Cook, with whom he had two children. He died on September 28, 2017, in Wimbledon, London, England, United Kingdom.
