An Italian actress, best known for her roles during the silent film era in the first quarter of the twentieth century. Francesca Bertini was born in Florence, Italy. She began her artistic career by performing on stage and also participated in Italian film productions. She has performed in cinema since the beginning of the era of the introduction of sound into movies. Bertini made her onscreen debut in La dea del mare (1907), and she followed it with Il trovatore (1910) and Re Lear in the same year, in addition to Romeo and Juliet (1912) among others. Her last appearance was in 1900 (1976).
