A German actor and director, born on December 7, 1909, in Altmünsterol, Alsace, Germany. He was a prolific voice artist for film and television, and in the 1960s, he became a children's fairy-tale teller on the radio. He was previously married to Trude Wagenknecht, then married Anneliese. His works include The Buddenbrooks (1959) and Maximilian von Mexiko (1970). He died on February 3, 2002, in Hamburg, Germany.
