American actor born on 27 February 1903 in Chester County, Tennessee, US. He made his film debut on Alice Adams (1935) and his final appearance on Witness for the Prosecution (1957). His most notable works include The Pepsi-Cola Playhouse (1954) and Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1956). He married once. He died on 26 May 1959 in Los Angeles, California, US.
