American actor and writer born on 7 April 1897 in New York City, New York, US. He began his career as a reporter in Broadway and a critic and writer for local newspapers in New York. His most notable works include College Confidential (1960), Telephone Time (1957), Broadway Thru a Keyhole (1933), and Wake Up and Live (1937). He married Rita Greene. He earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. He died of prostate cancer on 20 February 1972 in Los Angeles, California, US.
