American actor born on 8 August 1900 in Freedom, Indiana, US. He graduated from the University of Indiana in 1921. He made his debut in silent films in 1924 and his career continued until the early 1950s. His most notable works include The Outlaw Rider (1927), Leatherstocking (1924), Tarzan and the Golden Lion (1927), and Flash Gordon (1936). He married Joan Burroughs and they had three children. He died on 11 December 1983 in Apple Valley, California, US.
