An American actor, born in Wabash, Indiana, USA, on December 28, 1887. Charles married actress Dorothea White, and they had two children. He is known for The Little Foxes (1941), The Wife of Monte Cristo (1946), The Song of Bernadette (1943), and Somewhere I'll Find You (1942). Charles appeared on Broadway in 1928 and began appearing on the screen when he was 52 years old. He provided roles as a businessman and a villain. He died in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, on January 19, 1956, of a heart attack.
