American actor born in Chicago, Illinois, US on 26 March 1920. His most notable works include Strike It Rich (1951), The Pat Boome-Chevy Showroom (1957), and Little Women (1950-1958). Besides acting, he was the voice behind the Fox Movietone news reels in the 1950s. Additionally, he served as president of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He married Trudy Wilson Cannon and they had one child. He died of a heart attack on 22 June 2001 in Cologne, Germany.
