An American Grammy Award-nominated actress and singer, born on December 21, 1942, in Memphis, United States. She is often referred to as the "Queen of Memphis Soul". She is the daughter of singer Rufus Thomas. Carla has a BA in English from the University of Tennessee. She participated in Baby Driver (2017) and performed the song "It Ain't No Easy Thing" in White Boy Rick (2018).
