An American actress, born in San Antonio, Texas, USA, on May 13, 1912. She married actor John Beal (1934-1986), and they had two children. She is known for The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975), The Bionic Woman (1976), They Live by Night (1948), and The Snake Pit (1948). Helen provided some supporting roles in cinema and television. She was also a Broadway actress and starred in the Broadway play Johnny Belinda, during which she learned sign language and how not to react to lines spoken by other actors in the play. She graduated from Mercury Theatre. She made her movie debut in They Live by Night (1948) and her last screen work was in the movie Heroes (1977). She died in New York City, USA, on July 20, 1986, from a heart attack.
