A French actor of Belgian descent, born on January 24, 1897, in Tienen, Belgium, as Jacques Joseph Félix Fernand Ledoux. He started his career with small roles at the Comédie-Française. He debuted in the short film La faute d'orthographe (1918). He participated in nearly 90 works, the most famous of which are The Trial (1962), L'homme de Londres (1943), It Happened at the Inn (1943), and La Bête Humaine (1938).
