American actor born in Danville, Illinois, US on 27 July 1931. His works include Palm Springs Weekend (1963), McLintock! (1963), Yes, Dear (2001-2005), and Coach (1989-1997), his role on which earned him four Primetime Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actor. He married twice and had three children. He died of heart failure on 5 January 2018 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, US.
