An American actor, born in Denver, Colorado, USA, as Richard Allen Vanvleet. He married Kristine Ann Elliott in 1969, and they had two children, and their marriage ended in divorce. Among his works are Retribution (1998), Ryan and Sean's Not So Excellent Adventure (2008), Guiding Light (1985-1986), and All My Children (1977-2005). He trained in acting and film directing at the University of California Sacramento, Central Arizona College, and the Actors Workshop in Denver and Japan. He is best known for his role as Dr. Chuck Tyler for 13 years in the daytime soap opera All My Children. Richard washed dishes in the school cafeteria so that he could study drama in college and train in singing while working, and he worked as a cartoonist for the university newspaper during his studies. In recent years, he has produced several independent films, one of which, Jude Me Not, won an award.
