He was an American actor, born in New York, USA. He spent his initial studies in Germany, and after 5 years, he returned to New York, joined DeWitt Clinton High School, and joined the drama class. After graduation, he worked at the World Theater and performed plays at the...Read more Davenport Theatre. He also trained in the Broadway theater, then studied with Max Reinhardt in Hollywood and participated in classic plays. He signed a contract with Warner Brothers and performed several small roles until he was recruited into the Field Artillery Battalion during World War II and was used to translate the statements of German prisoners. After the war, he returned to the theater. He studied philosophy at the College of William & Mary and worked in television theater, from where he moved to many television programs. In 1960, he moved to Hollywood and worked in cinema and television. He is known for Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970), The Graduate (1967), and Bloodlust! (1961). Walter Brooke married three women and had two children. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on August 20, 1986, due to emphysema, at the age of 71 years.
