An Australian-born American actor and director, born in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia on August 16, 1882 as Charles Orr Rush. His notable works include The Three Way Trail (1925), Million Dollar Haul (1935), Playing Double (1923) and Within These Walls (1945). He was a character actor from the silent and sound eras, and during a career that lasted 28 years, he appeared in more than 300 films in mostly uncredited roles, which are often the roles of a policeman, investigator, and army soldier. He died on March 11, 1956 in Los Angeles, California, USA, at the age of 73.
