He was an American actor, born on March 4, 1907, in Brooklyn, New York, USA, as Seymour Schindell. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the 1920s and returned again to serve in WWII. He appeared in 35 Three Stooges short two-reel comedies and in many films as a blue-collar character. He continued to work despite having terminal cancer in order to provide for his family after his passing. He is known for The Face Behind the Mask (1941), Two-Fisted Gentleman (1936), and North of Shanghai (1939). He died of cancer at the age of 41 on August 24, 1948, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.
