He was an American actor, born on March 12, 1894, in Wilton, Iowa, USA. His debut was in the silent film era, and after serving in WWI, he continued his career in both cinema and theater. He also appeared in vaudeville as a comedian and singer. He is known for The Roaring Twenties (1939), Double Alibi (1940), and State Trooper (1933). He was married to Esther Ruebhausen, with whom he had one child. He passed away at the age of 54 on March 23, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
