He was an American actor and stunt performer, born on March 17, 1905, in New York City, New York, USA, as Joseph Provenzano. He used to work as a mortician in a funeral home owned by his parents. He was a member of The Three Stooges and worked as Shemp Howard's stand-in upon his passing until Joe Besser joined the group. In his last working years, he was Jack Lemmon's assistant and appeared in most of his films in the 1960s. He is known for his appearances in Little Miss Broadway (1947), Hot Stuff (1956), and Scheming Schemers (1956). He died at the age of 89 on August 15, 1994, in Poway, California, USA.
