He was an American actor, born on April 13, 1872, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. Before moving into Depression-era cinema, he had a long history in theater. His worn looks were well suited for performing country characters. He is known for The French Key (1946), Criminals of the Air (1937), and Men Without Souls (1940). He died at the age of 75 on April 10, 1948, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
