An American stage and film actor and director, born in Lompoc, California, USA, on July 26, 1881. He joined the University of California and began his theatrical career at the beginning of the 20th century. He started his work in silent films in 1914 and continued to work after the introduction of sound into films. In 1918, he worked at the Sioux Theatre in Iowa, and in 1922, he worked at the Savoy Theatre in London, and in 1927, his troupe performed in Pennsylvania, then he worked on Broadway. He played various roles in cinema such as a thief, a gambler and a chief of police. He married Louise Chapman Wallace. His notable works include The Mouthpiece (1932) and Dream Street (1921). He died in Tarzana, California, USA on December 12, 1953.
