English writer and actor, born on October 28, 1903, in London, England, United Kingdom, as Arthur St. John Waugh. He studied at Lancing College, West Sussex, England, and then at Hertford College, Oxford. He was married to Evelyn Gardner (1928-1930), after which he got married to Laura Herbert in 1937 and they had 7 children. He is known for Brideshead Revisited (2008), A Handful of Dust (1988), and The Loved One (1965). He died on April 10, 1966, in Combe Florey, Somerset, England, UK.
