Scottish writer, born in Kilmarnock, Scotland. He attended Kilmarnock Academy and studied English at the University of Glasgow, graduating with an MA in 1960. His first book, Remedy is None, was published in 1966. He is known for Crossing the Line (1990), Screen Two (1985), and Play for Today (1970). He died on December 5, 2015, in Netherlee, Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
