Scottish actor and theater director, born in Paisley, Scotland, United Kingdom, as George Ian Kenneth Ireland. He got married to the director Marilyn Imrie and they divorced, then he married the actress Meg Poole in 1980. He made his debut in the short film Little White Crimes (1966). He is known for Moonlighting (1982), Benidorm (2007-2014), and House of Cards (1990). He died on July 31, 2014, at the age of 68.
