An American actor, born in Chico, California, USA, on June 12, 1912. Before appearing on screen, he worked as a film cutter, assistant cameraman, and sound recorder. His career as an actor began in 1937 and he specialized in Western films and presented starring and supporting roles. He served in the US Navy during World War II as an aerial combat photographer. He established two television production companies. He also participated in directing, writing and composing music for films and TV shows. He's known for his role as Lucky Jenkins in a total of 27 of Paramount's popular Hopalong Cassidy film series, starring William Boyd. He got married twice and had one child. Among his notable works are Rustler's Valley (1937), Three Men from Texas (1940) and Sunset Trail (1938). He died in Palm Springs, California, USA on June 9, 1981, of pneumonia.
