An American actress, born in Los Angeles, California, USA, on December 22, 1915, as Barbara Lillian Combes. She won a Camie at the Character and Morality in Entertainment Awards in 2005 and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1990 and 1989. Barbara Billingsley got married three times and had two children. Her most important works include Airplane! (1980), Amazing Stories (1985), Mork & Mindy (1982), and Leave It to Beaver (1957-1963). Barbara's father worked in the police, and after her parents got divorced when she was four years old, her mother worked as a foreman at a knitting mill. Barbara graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles in 1934, attended Los Angeles Junior College for one year, then traveled to New York to perform in a show on Broadway, but the show closed after only four performances, and she went on to work as a model for $60 a week. She got married in 1940 and gave birth to two children, and in 1945, she signed a contract with MGM and moved with her husband to Los Angeles, where her husband opened a steakhouse, and she began appearing in films in supporting and minor roles until the mid-1950s, when she established herself as an actress in television series, devoting herself completely to television work, as she appeared in 235 episodes of Leave It to Beaver (1957-1963). After a 17-year hiatus, she resumed her career, appearing in the movie Airplane! (1980). She participated in her last work, the TV movie Secret Santa, in 2003. She died at the age of 94 in Santa Monica, California, USA, on October 16, 2010, of polymyalgia.
