A British film and television actor, born in London, England, UK on May 4, 1911. He married actress Vivienne Burgess (1951-1961), they had one child, and she remained until his death. His notable work includes The Scarlet Pimpernel (1955), Brandy For the Parson (1952), Danger Man (1961), and Dixon of Dock Green (1960). He played supporting roles, mostly senior leadership figures in the army and dignified personalities such as a judge, priest and doctor. He died in London, England, on May 25, 1961 of heart disease, at the age of 50.
