A British film, television and repertory actress, born Doreen Ilse Johnson in Bedford Park, London, England, UK on October 15, 1901. She's known for Hobson's Choice (1954), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (1938), The End of the Beginning (1938) and The Spider and the Fly (1949). She usually played loud or aggressive women's roles such as a landlady, pensioner, neighbor and gypsy. She died in Brighton, East Sussex, England, on August 28, 1968, following a road accident, at the age of 66.
