A British actor, born in London, England, United Kingdom, on November 6, 1882. He is known for Bulldog Drummond Strikes Back (1947), Johnny Apollo (1940), Television Spy (1939), and Beware of Ladies (1936). He first appeared on screen at the age of 47 and appeared in nearly 250 films. He was perfectly cast as a butler in more than any other over 25 years. He also performed other various characters. He remained active in the business until he died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on February 23, 1957.
