An Australian actor and producer, born on December 20, 1930, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. In 1977, he was nominated for the AFI Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role for his role in Eliza Fraser. He was married to Suzanne de Berenger from 1960 until he died in 1997, and they had one child. He is known for The Year of Living Dangerously (1982), The Rollicking Adventures of Eliza Fraser (1976), and Paradise Road (1997). He died on October 16, 1997, in Sydney, Australia, of a heart attack.
