A British-South African screenwriter and novelist, born in Kabwe, Zambia. He was fond of reading from a young age. He attended Rhodes University in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Commerce in 1954. He wrote many novels that achieved wide success and high sales, and many of them were adapted into films and TV series, most notably Wild Justice (1994), Gold (1974) and Dark of the Sun (1968). He died on November 13, 2021 in Cape Town, South Africa.
