A Canadian silent film actress and benefactor, born as Beryl Vere Nassau Adams in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She attended school in her hometown, and in England, she studied drama and then went on to work in Hollywood as a movie star. She debuted in the short film Curing the Office Boy (1912). Her other credits include The Penalty (1920), The Big Parade (1925), and The Sea Wolf (1926). She married American film producer, writer, and director Benjamin B. Hampton, and her brother was screenwriter Gerald Drayson Adams. She lived in Australia for the latter part of her life and passed away on September 25, 1978, in Windsor, Victoria.
