American actor, born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, on March 18, 1887, as Francis Charles Moran, to Irish immigrant parents. He was a professional boxer, who fought twice for the world heavyweight boxing championship. He appeared in more than 150 films during his career in cinema, which lasted 25 years. He studied dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh and served in the US Navy from 1907. He presented supporting and additional roles such as boxer, coach, bartender, waiter, gang member, and others. Among his most important works are Double Cross (1941), Battle of Broadway (1938), No More Women (1934), and Sullivan's Travels (1941). He died in Hollywood, California, USA, on December 14, 1967, of a heart attack.
