A Canadian humorist and writer, born on a farm in Cushing, Quebec. He graduated from Loyola College. He worked at National Lampoon, a humor magazine, from 1971 until 1978 when he became an editor and later co-editor-in-chief in 1975. He authored 18 books. His on-screen credits include Between the Lions (2000-2011), Lemmings (1973), and Legally Blonde (2001). His son is writer and producer Chris Kelly. He died on July 11, 2022, in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA, of heart and renal failure.
