She was an actor, assistant director, and lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. He was born to a Hindu family and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the Punjab, where he studied English. He then moved to the United States and completed his graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, in education and philosophy. He worked in American cinema and lectured at the University of California, Berkeley. He also worked in the cinema as a consultant on details related to India. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, at the age of 83.
