A Czech actor, born in Brno, Moravia, Austro-Hungarian Empire (now the Czech Republic). He appeared in film, television, and theater. His most notable works include Her Man Gilbey (1944), The Man from Morocco (1945), The Lavender Hill Mob (1951), and The Great Manhunt (1950). He died in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, on August 31, 1951, at the age of 48.
