A Brazilian-American writer, born on March 15, 1879, in São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated from Princeton University in 1901. He worked as Vice Consul of the United States of America in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1904. Among his most famous works are White Man (1924), Home in Indiana (1944), The Red House (1947), and April Love (1957). He died on March 4, 1966, in New Jersey, USA, at the age of 87.
