French writer, singer, and actor, born on March 1, 1926, in Paris, France. He suffered early on from the pain of war, as he was interned in a Nazi concentration camp as a child. After World War II, he became a singing star in France, and in 1949 he went to the United States to take his career to the next level. He appeared on The Ed Wynn Show (1949) while he was still learning English, and he performed in a French-language comedy skit. His comedy skills were recognized by Broadway, where he appeared in several plays. He is known for The Bold and the Beautiful (1990-1992) and Hogan's Heroes (1965-1971). He died on November 16, 2022, in Beverly Hills, California, USA.
