An American actor, born in Elma, Iowa, USA, on April 9, 1904. He married actress Mary Foy (1947-1967. His most important works include Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (1947), Dick Tracy's Dilemma (1947), Dick Tracy (1945), and Dick Tracy vs. Cueball (1946). Lyle played the roles of taxi drivers, tough idiots, reporters and cops. He died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 24, 1967.
