Italian actor and director, born in Venice, Italy. Before immigrating to the United States in 1925, he worked in theater in Italy and England and acted in and directed a number of silent films before moving to the US, where he kept up his performing career in silent and then sound movies. He appeared in works such as Swiss Miss (1938), Maytime (1937), Ellis Island (1936), and Man of the People (1937). He passed away in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, United States, on March 14, 1939, from a heart attack at the age of 67.
