A French singer, born as Edith Giovanna Gassion in Paris into a poor family. Her mother abandoned her when she was very young, and she was raised in her grandmother's house. She started singing at an early age, and quickly gained fame thanks to her powerful voice and moving performances. Piaf has had great success in France and around the world. Among her most famous songs are "La Vie en Rose", "L'Hymne à l'amour", and "Non, je ne regrette rien". Among her credits are Inception (2010) and A Star Is Born (2018). She died on October 11, 1963, at age 47.
